Alexandra Maria Lara (born in Romania) is a Romanian actress and television presenter. She's best known as the main character in Rush, Downfall Youth Without Youth Control, and Rush. As the sole child of Romanian actress Valentin Platareanu, Alexandra started her career in showbiz as a child. She played lead roles in dramas on television as young at the age of 16. Following her highly acclaimed performance in the TV film Der Tunnel, Alexandra went onto play more notable parts, including Adolf Hitler's secretary, Traudljunge, as well as the secretary of Adolf Hitler in Downfall. The film was nominated for an Oscar and received critical and commercial success. The Reader and Der Baader Meinhof Komplex are the other Oscar nominated features featuring the divas. Alexandra was involved in a variety of significant international and national productions throughout her career. Some of these include the British biographical film Control, Greek drama film The Dust of Time, as well as the French historical miniseries Napoleon. In addition, she was a member of the jury at the Cannes Film Festival and the Transylvania International Film Festival.
